Day 13 of my Adventure Calendar. For 24 days, up until Christmas, I plan to release a lil bit of RPG content. Want to join as well? Join the jam!

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has a really cool weapon: The Mortal Blade, a weapon that can kill immortal beings forever. You die when you draw the blade. Good thing the main character can resurrect at will.
In light of what I plan to post in the next entry, let’s make a cool blade like that! My template will once again be Block, Dodge, Parry. What can I say, it’s my RPG, so I like writing for it.
Special Properties
Pick any or all of the following:
- It can harm immortal beings/gods
- It can harm dragons
- It completely ignores Armor
- On a failed Critical Damage Save, it sucks out the soul of the target
- It allows you to take damage for a flat damage buff; take 10 HP damage for +10 damage on a single strike, or even take STR damage if you’re out of HP.
Downsides
- Drawing the sword for the first time kills you; you’ll need to figure out a way to come back.
- Drawing/wielding the sword incurs a Soulburn wound for each strike. These can never be healed.
- Once per fight in which the blade is wielded, the Warden rolls a secret Usage Dice. It starts at D20, shrinking to a smaller size at a roll of 1 or 2. Whenever the dice size shrinks, the player is only informed that their soul feels heavier for using the blade. When the dice is depleted entirely (rolling 1-2 on a d4), the wielder dies.
- Using the blade weighs heavy on the soul, and requires a WIL Save whenever it is drawn. On a failure, you cannot find the courage to even try and draw the blade for 24 hours.
- The blade is fearsome, radiating an aura of death. All weapons were made to kill, but this sword seems to carry with it the very essence of murder – as if the verb to kill was captured within its steel. Drawing the blade forces a WIL Save on friends (hirelings and such) and foes alike. On a failure, they will flee.
